  Albert joined the cavalry in 1914. In 1916 he was discharged from the army on compassionate grounds, after he discovered that his wife Amy had deserted him and left behind all but two of her children. (Medical):After Albert's death, there was a post mortem but no inquest. His son in law R W Smith, possibly the husband of May Victoria Lines, informed the authorities of his death.
