• Notes

  The parentage of Daisy Elizabeth Fisk is VERY UNCERTAIN. When she married Edwin F Headland in Colne, Lancashire in 1908, she gave her age as 21 and her father's name as John Fisk, upholsterer. Both witnesses were related to the groom, unfortunately. 3 years later in the 1911 census, her age was still 21! Her place of birth was given as Clerkenwell, London. I found a bith record for Daisy Lilian E Fisk in Holborn district in Q4 1889. Clerkenwell is in Holborn district. So it was a natural assumption that the 1 year old Daisy L Fisk in the 1891 census, the daughter of John Fisk and his wife Elizabeth Simmonds was the girl who married Edwin Frederick Headland in Colne, Lancashire in 1908. The problem with these assumptions is that John and Elizabeth emigrated to Canada in March 1911 with their whole family, including their SINGLE daughter Lilian E Fisk, age 20. Later that year they appear in the Canadian census in Quebec with their whole family including Lily, born March 1891. It cannot be the same person in UK and Canada 1911 censuses, both single and married!
