Sarah Bennison was dead by the time this was taken, but all of her children are on the coach. We have identified only 6 people, the girl sitting right at the back, and the 5 people standing towards the front. They are her daughter Olive Thomas, with husband (to be?) Albert Hulme; and her 2nd husband Roger Foster with 3 children he and Sarah had.

Roger was the first cousin of Dave's Dad John Foster, and had been best man at John's own wedding.

To judge from the camera angle, the photographer was somewhat the worse for wear!

This happy photo seems to have been taken in sand dunes, probably in North Wales.

  • Notes
    • When Olive's mother Sarah died in 1925, Olive was only 18. However, Walker's brewery had such confidence in her ability to run the pub her mother had managed, that they allowed her to do so. This she did, assisted by her step-father Roger Foster, until her own marriage 2 years later.
