Married 9 Aug 1834  St Mary Church, Penwortham, Lancashire, UK Find all individuals with events at this location
    • This is an interesting marriage. William Green (aka Foster) and his younger brother Roger Foster married sisters Jenny and Margaret (Peggy) Moss respectively. The witnesses t o this marriage were William's brother Roger and Betty Moss , the sister of Margaret and Jenny. Perhaps William met Margaret at his brother's wedding, although this seems a little unlikely, since William and Margaret married only 3 mont hs after Roger and Jenny.

  • Notes
    • William was christened William Green, because at the time of his birth his mother's name was Green. However, since his mother was a widow of 3 years standing, since she knew Thomas Foster and eventually married him (also widowed) 3 years later, and since he always used the name Foster, it seem s highly likely that he was in fact the son of Thomas Foster.
