She and Thomas married at St Mary Church, Penwortham, Nr Preston, Lancs, on 2 Jun 1800. The entry reads: "Thomas Green and Margt Sharples both of this Parish were Married in this Church by Banns the second day of June in the Year One Thou sand eight Hundred by C. Readshaw Officiag. Minister in the Presence of Thomas Foster & Edwd: Tuson" Thomas Green died 5 years later. In 1811, Margaret married Thomas Foster, Dave's 3* great grandfather.

• Notes

  Interesting is that one of the witnesses at Margaret's wedding to Thomas Green was Thomas Foster, presumably a friend of Thomas Green. After both Margaret and Thomas Foster were widowed (she in 1805, he in 1807), they appear to have had an illegitimate child William Green, later known as William Foster, in 1809.
