  When Alice's son Harry had to prove his identity - he was always known as Harry Oliphant, but to obtain a passport, he needed to prove that he was the same person as the child Harry Dowsing described on his birth certificate - one copy of the afidavit referred to Harry's mother as Laura. So it is not quite clear whether she was Alice or Laura. Nor is it known whether Dowsing was her maiden name or a married name.
